Every now and then I get the urge to try making a clean and simple card. I just don't like to make single layer cards.
This is for the The Cat's Pajama's TCPTUES267 Anything Goes challenge. These guys were begging to be inked and with the summer upon us it seemed like the perfect stamp to use.
Here's the deets:
stamp - the Cat's Pajamas "Besties"
ink - My Favorite Things "Black Licorice"
paper - My Favorite Things "Kraft" and "Black Licorice" card stock
miscellaneous - waxed linen twine

PWC312 Father's Day/Masculine
It's Wednesday, hump day and Paper Pretties new challenge day. I'm not quite sure which is most exciting, I guess it depends on if you're working Monday to Friday and how much you like or don't like your job. I know you must love a papercrafting challenge or you wouldn't be here. This week Paper Pretties is calling for Father's Day or Masculine cards. I just heard a rather loud collective groan. I know, I know. You like to make pretty, frou frou cards with lots of bling on them. Get over it for one card. Eventually you'll need to give a card to a masculine type person so just bite the bullet and make one. Besides, the winner of the challenge gets to pick 5 digis.
The process becomes a lot easier if you have a fun set of stamps like the Handyman set. I love this set and get a lot of use out of it. Besides the grill, there's a tool set and a lawn mower, plus tons of sentiments. You can make a card for any man you know with this set. Check it out, I'm sure you'll agree.
Here's the deets:
stamp - Paper Pretties "Handyman"
ink - Memento "Tuxedo Black"; sentiment MFT "Kraft"
paper - Close To My Heart "My Reflections - Jubilee"
miscellaneous - copics; buttons; twine
Here's the challenges:

Fan-Tastic Tuesday #37 - Anything Goes
PDE Linky Party #11 - Food or Beverage (burgers on the grill)

PIO #21 Metal
Start piling it on now and don't stop till your fingers are bleeding and so numb you can't move them.
This week at Pile It On the challenge is "Metal" and you have got to play along. Our sponsor this week is Add a Little Dazzle and the prize is a $25 gift certificate. You don't want to miss out on that prize. Do like me and make a masculine card and enter it in their challenge for an extra chance to win. I'm telling you that you are going to love, love, LOVE THIS stuff. What is it? It's that gorgeous shiny paper I've run through the my hot shot with an embossing folder and a die cut and look at those fab results. It comes in plenty of colors, it's not too thick and there are ideas and tips on the web site. I've purchased other foil paper but it was much thicker and not fun to play with, this is fun. I'm putting my thinking cap on, I'd like to use it on for a Christmas card. So get cracking and make a card to enter in our Pile It On challenge, don't forget you have to enter at least one other challenge, so it might as well be Add a Little Dazzle's.
Here's the deets:
stamp - Crafty Secrets "Car Classics"

SFTW- For the Girls
Happy Friday! I hope you all have fun plans for your weekend and that they include some time for stamping especially because the new challenge at Stampin' for the Weekend is so darn easy, at least for me. This fortnight the challenge is "For the Girls". For me, left to my own devices that's just about every thing I make. I have to think about making it masculine. Our sponsor for this challenge is Live and Love Crafts. There is so much beautiful stuff there you could get lost for days! Go check it out but don't tell your hubby I sent you.
Here's the deets:

PWC311 - Flowers
Are you ready for a new challenge from Paper Pretties? Well, it's Wednesday so we're ready even if you aren't. This week the challenge PWC311 is "Flowers". I love flowers but for some reason I rarely use them as an embellishment on my cards. The good news for me and anyone else who is flower shy on cards is that the challenge doesn't say that you have to use three dimensional flowers to embellish your card or project. My card may only have one big flower on it but if you look closely you would see that the background paper is a floral design, the border punch is also a floral design and in the stamp "Everyday Lily - clear", Lily is holding flowers. There's lots of ways you can get those flowers on your card, so whip something up and then take a picture of it and submit it on our blog. You could win 5 digital images and we like to see what you make.
Here's the deets:
stamp - Paper Pretties "Everyday Lily - clear"
ink - Memento "Tuxedo Black"
paper - Copic X-press card stock; Bazzill "Glow", "Tawny Medium" and "Apricot" card stock; K & Co "TC Cottage Garden" dp pad
miscellaneous - copics; Cuttlebug birthday embossing folder; Martha Stewart border punch; cord; Close To My Heart mocha "Opaques"; MFT flower die
Here's the challenges:
Paper Pretties PWC311 - Flowers
A Random Fan #9 - Anything Goes
Cards and More #106 - Spring
Shopping Our Stash SOS152 - Happy Birthday to Us (Everything except the flower die is over a year old - the patterned paper pad I purchased while I still lived in NJ - I moved in 2010!)
Thanks for stopping by, come back again.

PWC310 - Embellish!
This week Paper Pretties has one of the most fun challenges ever, unless you're a CAS (Clean and Simple) crafter. PWC310 is "Embellish". For me it's so much fun to go looking through my baskets of embellies to find the "perfect" match for each project. To be honest, for me it's fun to go looking through my baskets of embellishments just for the heck of it.
For this card I used the "Life is Sweet - Clear" Stamp set. One of the cool things about this stamp set is that it comes with a plenty of extra little stamps that you can use to embellish your project. There's a single gumball plus a silly face (I used those on the sentiment flag) and there's also a small star that would fit inside the gumball. Lots of sentiments come with the set too. It's truly a bargain, and FUN!
Here's the deets:
stamp - Paper Pretties "Life is Sweet - Clear"
ink - Memento "Tuxedo Black"
paper - Stampin' Up "Bordering Blue" card stock and "Specialty Sweet Shop" DSP
miscellaneous - copics; Stampin' Up Wisteria Wonder Ruffled Ribbon; SU Jelly Bean Sweet Shop Brad; mini brads; Baker's Twine
Here's the challenges:

Digi Sketch Challenge - Sketch "Anything Goes
Sweet Stamps #169 - Polka Dots

PIO #19 - Fuzzy
Hello Kitty! As if the original Hello Kitty weren't enough to love now I've got another one that's too cute for words. This little kitty has been supplied by Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps who are sponsoring this week's Pile It On challenge #19 "Fuzzy".
This cute and fuzzy kitty also reminds me of the prettiest kitty that ever shared a house with me but only for a short time. He was also the least people friendly cat I ever knew. I always wanted to pick him up and pet him but he wanted nothing to do with that. Well, that's just like a pretty boy isn't it, stuck up. But I digress...
Here's the deets:
stamps - Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps "Hello Kitty" ; sentiment A Muse "A Warm Hello"
ink - printer for digi; Stampin' Up "Strawberry Slush" for sentiment
paper - Stampin' Up "Strawberry Slush" and "Pear Pizzaz" card stock; K & Co "SW Spring Blossom" pad
miscellaneous - copics; Spellbinder's Scalloped Rectangle die; baker's twine; ribbon; telephone charm; dew drops; bling;

SFTW Photo Inspiration
It's the weekend so it's time for a new challenge to keep you busy. At Stampin' for the Weekend we've got a beautiful photo collage to inspire you. Between the six photos and the color choices you're bound to find something to get your blood pulsing and you running off to your stamps. So get busy and play along for a chance at the prize donated by the online store Sweet Stamps.
I love this color combo, lavender is a favorite for me so every one of these photos tugs at me. Yummy cookies, beautiful countryside, fashion forward model, hip graphics and then there's the lemons. Oooh, I love those lemons with the baker's twine, that's the one that stopped me cold. I knew if I went digging in my stash I had a fun lemonade stamp. So that's what I did, I found that, and pulled some other elements from the collage and I had a card in no time.
The rest of the design team have amazing cards, if you haven't been to the Stampin' for the Weekend blog yet get over there and see what they've done. They are quite talented and I am always impressed with their work. Today is no exception.
Here's the deets:
stamps - Impression Obsession "Sweet Lemonade"; My Favorite Things "Sheet Music Back Ground" and "DC Washi Patterns"
ink - My Favorite Things - "Black Licorice" and "Steel Blue"; Memento "Dandelion"
Paper - Stampin' Up "Pale Plum" card stock; My Favorite Things "Steel Blue" and "Smooth White" card stock; K and Co "Susan Winget Botanical" dsp pad
miscellaneous - copics; stickles; Clear Star Gelly Roll marker; Spare Part Vintage Brads; Hero Arts Sparkle Gems; SU bling; Baker's twine; sun charm

PWC309 Graduation/School
I'm late! So sorry to be a day late for the Paper Pretties challenge PWC309 Graduation/School. There's still plenty of time for you to play along but I am ashamed to be late.
This week we want to see Graduation cards or School cards. I wasn't in the mood for graduation, and don't have any grads around this year so I thought about the cheerleader, and she is so cheerful so I got her out for coloring. I thought I'd do her in my old high school colors, funny thing, it's been so long since I was in high school it took me a few minutes to remember what the colors were. Geez!
When it came time to embellish the card I knew I had some pom poms somewhere and I went hunting them down. Turned out they were all pink or red. Well I gave my copics a test and it turns out you really can color anything with them, that green pom started out as a pink pom which I colored in two shakes of a lamb's tail with one of the markers I used on the uniform. Now of course if that didn't work I would have just popped a button on the bow but isn't the pom pom the perfect embellie for this image!
Now it's your turn. We want to see your cards or project, so get them finished and load them onto the Paper Pretties Challenge Blog.
Here's the deet:
stamp - Paper Pretties "Cis" digi
ink - printer
paper - Stampin' Up "Garden Green" card stock; Simple Stories "Vintage Bliss" dsp
miscellaneous - copics; Stampin' Up border punch; Lime Green stickles; pom pom; baker's twine
Here's the challenges:
Paper Pretties PWC309 - Graduation/School
Crafty Sentiments Design - Anything Goes
Digi Choosday week 18 - Make It for the Kids
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Thanks for stopping by, come back again.
