CIC234 Stamp and Create

They never disappoint me.  The gals at Cupcake Inspirations sure do know how to find some cute as can be cupcakes.  These little ghosties sure do measure up.  This week our challenge is sponsored by Stamp and Create.  You can play along with us by making a card inspired by those adorable cupcakes or you can use the colors espresso, white and violet for your inspiration.

My card is clean and simple inspired by the cupcakes.  It was made with K & co. paper punch outs and the background paper is from a K and Co Halloween paper pad.  It's quick and easy but a very cute card.

Here's the deets:

SFTW - Spooky

BOO!
We're getting "Spooky" for the next two weeks at Stampin' for the Weekend.  So mix up something spooky and link it up for a chance to win a prize from out sponsor.
Do you love Halloween and all the scary and creepy stuff that goes with it?  I love most of it, at least I used to but at some point the stuff crossed the line.  It's the slasher stuff that can get a bit too gory for me.  So far I haven't seen anything in the paper crafting realm that has crossed the line, and that's a comfort to me.  It's good to know that I can click around all day and see all kinds of ghosts and ghouls, and they may be creepy and bloody but they aren't likely to gross me out.

Here's the deets:
stamp - the witches are unmarked
              the sentiment is A Muse
ink - My Favorite Things Black Licorice and Jelly Bean Green
paper - My Favorite Things Sour Apple Green card stock; Stampin' Up Basic Black and Whisper White card stock; Basic Grey Eerie patterned paper;
miscellaneous - Jolee spiders; My Favorite Things Oval Stax and Spider Web die-namics; Stampin' Up yellow and green markers

PWC281 Food and Drink

It's Wednesday, and that means it's time for a new challenge at Paper Pretties.  This week's challenge PWC281 is "Food and Drink" and isn't this the perfect time of year for that theme. There's lots of parties and of course there's trick or treating so foods often the center of attention. So for this week's challenge we want to see your food and drink creations.  You don't have to use Paper Pretties stamps but if you have them we'd sure like to see how you use them.

For my card I used the Holiday Sweets I Clear stamp set.  This is one of my favorite stamp sets. It's a set of four holiday cupcakes with six sentiments.  Of course if you're like me you're going to have to have the Holiday Sweets II set that has four different holiday themed cupcakes. If you have them both you'll have a stamp for all the big holidays, and that's a good thing.

Here's the deets:
I'm sorry, I made this card several weeks ago and have lost my "recipe" sheet so I can't tell you what papers I used
stamp - Paper Pretties Holiday's Sweets I.
ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
miscellaneous - copics, dew drops; Martha Stewart corner punch; googly eyes; K & Co cut outs; Spellbinder oval dies

CIC233 Stamps of Life

Another set of cute as can be cupcakes.  It just amazes me that people have the time to make such beautiful desserts that will be devoured so quickly.   This week we have a new sponsor, The Stamps of Life.  You'll find some of the cutest stamps for scrap booking and card making there.  Stop over and have a look around, you'll like what you see.

For my card I used the Thanks2Fall set. There are 34 pieces in this set.  While I chose to paper piece the two pumpkins there were stamps that I could have used with an orange stamp pad to get a full orange inside, as well as some other pieces to use for different cut outs of pumpkin faces and more sentiments.  You can sit with this one stamp set for hours, making different designs and having lots of fun.  I know I had a great time.

Here's the deets:

paper - My Favorite Things Tangy Orange, Safety Orange, and Gumdrop Green card stock; My Mind's Eye Black Bird dsp

It's Pinktober at Jellypark Friends

It's Pinktober! at Jellypark Friends and unless you've been living in a cave for the last few years you should know that for everyone October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and pink is the color of Breast Cancer Month. With all the sports on TV don't you just love seeing those burly sportscasters wearing pink shirts and/or ties.  I saw one baseball player with a pink baseball mitt, which is probably the coolest thing I ever saw.   I don't think there's anything smarter, hipper, maybe even sexier than a man in pink, and I am not joking, being sarcastic or talking tongue in cheek.

My card is using the Breakthrough Breast Cancer Flower Ribbon Digital Stamp.  All of the proceeds from this stamp go to charity so not only can you make a beautiful card that will raise awareness, but you will be making a monetary contribution as well.  Nice how that works.  The middle layer of my card was made by typing "fight like a girl" several times and then copying it several times, and changing the color to pink before printing it onto Georgia Pacific card stock.  I love the way it turned out, I think it works perfectly in this card.

I hope you'll join us at Jellypark Friends for "Pinktober" and that you'll stop over at the Jellypark Friends Store and make a purchase of the Flower Ribbon, you'll be glad you did.

Here's the deets:

PWC280 Embellish

Happy Fall Y'all!
It's Wednesday, time for a new Paper Pretties challenge., PWC280 is "Embellish".  Unless you're a died in the wool clean and simple kind of crafter then this challenge is right up your alley.  I have a terrible time with clean and simple so there you have it, I love an opportunity to embellish.  I especially love to make a girly, girly card and throw on some lace and bling, and maybe a charm.  I do so love to add charms.  And of course you can use punches and dies to dress up the edges.

For my card I used the clear Fall Cooper stamp set.  Cooper's such a cutie, I just love him and he reminds me of my faux nephew (that's my bestie friend's son, not really a nephew, but he should be) Cooper.  Everybody just loves the real Cooper, as much as they love the stamp Cooper, how cool is that!  Anyway, I picked this stamp because I wanted to show that YOU CAN embellish cards for men and boys, and you can use more than just a button to do it.  I've got some dew drops in the corner, a fun clip on the banner, hey, there's a banner, a leaf button with a cord bow tied on it, and a scalloped oval mat around the sentiment.  I actually think there could be a couple brads and some stickles added to this too but I held myself back.  But you don't have to, why don't you go for it.  We can't wait to see what you create.

Here's the deets:
stamp - Paper Pretties Fall Cooper clear stamp set
ink - Memento Tuxedo Black and Stampin' Up Baked Brown Sugar for sentiment
paper - Stampin' Up Summer Starfruit and Soft Suede card stock; Cosmo Cricket Mini Deck Paquet Miniature
miscellaneous - Copics; Freckled Fawn Geotag paper clips; leaf button; cord; dew drops; Stampin' Up corner punch, oval and scalloped oval punch

CIC232 Bugaboo

BOO!

It's time for Cupcake Inspirations CIC232 Challenge.  It's also time for all the ghosties and goblins to be making an appearance so if you've got some some fun Halloween stamps and embellishments now would be the time to break them out.  If you don't celebrate Halloween you can still play along by using the colors white, chartreuse and black for your challenge inspiration.  We want everyone to be included.

This week our sponsor is the great, and fun Bugaboo Stamps.  I love Bugaboo Stamps, I shop there frequently.  I happen to love a couple of the characters and can't get enough of them.  Stella is my favorite.  She is just so snarky.  She's the kind of woman that if she worked in your office she'd have you spewing out coffee on your keyboard on a regular basis.  I love lots of other images there, I love the Rudy the Christmas reindeer, Gus and JJ, then there's the cupcakes.  I could go on and on but I think you get the point.

Here's the deets:
ink - printer
paper - My Favorite Things "Sour Apple" card stock; Stampin' Up "Basic Black" card stock; K & Co Tim Coffey Halloween Specialty pad, K& Co Kelly Panacci Halloween Specialty pad
miscellaneous - copics; Jolee spider stickers; Spare parts candy corn brad; lacy ribbon, waxed linen twine; candy corn charm

SFTW - Anything Goes

The new challenge at Stampin' for the Weekend has been posted.  The theme for the next two weeks is "Anything Goes" and we've got Stamp Fairy for our sponsor.  With such an easy theme and a sweet sponsor I expect to see lots of entries in this challenge.

Since this is October it's time for Hope You Can Cling To at Split Coast Stampers.  That's the month of challenges for Breast Cancer Awareness.  I hope you'll find some time to stop over at Splitcoast Stampers and play along in some of the challenges, chat in some of the forums, make some friends, and have some fun.  The most important thing is that you keep in mind that it's Breast Cancer Awareness month. Take care of yourself.  Have you had your mammogram this year?  If not call to get it scheduled.

Normally I wouldn't mention another challenge in my Stampin' for the Weekend post. I might combine a couple challenges and list them below but it's pretty rare that I'll mention anything about them in the post unless there's something pretty important about them.  It's just not right to take away the attention from my teamies  but I have very strong feelings about the Hope You Can Cling To challenges.  There's a lot of healing gong on over there.  Not just for people who are suffering through the disease.  When you visit the forums and start chatting it is amazing how much people are able to share and much they are able to get off their chests.  Some times we don't realize how much making a simple card can do.

My Stampin' for the Weekend card is also for the first Hope You Can Cling to challenge, HYCCT1301A - Inner Strength. make  a card with inner strength - meaning that a dimensional image on the inside of your card can be seen through an opening in the front of your card.   This was fun to make, what you can't see is that the fairy on the inside is popped up on a springy wobble thing.  One of the things these challenges suggest is that you donate the cards to the  UT MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas for the patients and their visitors to use.  I wish I could be there to see the face of the little girl (at least that's who I imagine receiving this card) who receives it.

Here's the deets:
stamp - Stamp Fairy "Molly Fairy"
ink - printer
paper - Close to My Heart - Dream Pop
miscellaneous - copics; Spellbinder's circle die; Wobble spring; Stampin' Up Candy Dots Subtles; Star button (shank removed); star bling

PWC279 - Halloween

Trick or Treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat!  It's Wednesday, time for a Paper Pretties challenge.  PWC279 is Halloween.  So get those ghosties and goblins stamps out and whip up something for the great Pumpkin.  You can make a card or a project.  If you've got a couple little ones maybe you'd like to stamp on a bag and make a special treat holder for them.  If you're having a party and you can make some goodie bags or decorations.  Whatever you do, take a photo and link it up to our blog so you can be in challenge.

For my card I used the "Trick or Treat" digi set.  I think it's a hoot for a couple reasons.  One being, I have a dog and a cat that like to sit by the front door which has a glass panel with venetian blinds covering it.  Since they like to look out we keep the blinds raised about a foot. The view on this stamp set is pretty much what the view at the front door would be if those particular feet were to come calling.  And secondly, it's just a cute image, those monster feet are adorable.  What more is there to say?

Here's the deets:
stamp - Paper Pretties Trick or Treat digi
ink - printer; Ranger Shabby Shutter sponged on sentiment bar
paper - Stampin' Up Garden Green and Whisper White card stock; K & C Kelly Panacci Halloween Specialty Pad

CIC231 Kenny K

This week at the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge CIC231  we've gone Steampunk.  The chatter among the sweeties was that none of us were very familiar with this genre and weren't very sure how we were going to proceed but I've had a peek at what the rest of the team have created and I think they did a great job.  You should stop over to our blog to check it out, and if you have some time, stop and leave the sweeties some love, you know how much those comments mean to you.

Steampunk can be somewhat daunting if it isn't your thing.  It's a growing subculture that looks like Victorian English fashion forget to be prim.  And then there's the gadgets, lots of gadgets.  If you're not familiar with it do a google search you'll be gone for days.

Just like the rest of the team I was a little perplexed how to proceed with my card but I happen to have a few dies and stencils that are cogs and gears that I purchased for no particular reason so I pulled them out.  Then since it's October, and Kenny K's gals usually are pretty full breasted I was inspired to make my card a Steampunk meets Breast Cancer Awareness card. Hey it works for me and that's all that matters.  This challenge is all about inspiration.  So whatever inspires you, we can't wait to see.

Here's the deets:
stamp - Kenny K Downloads Velocitia
ink - printer
paper - My Favorite Things "Natural", "Pink Lemonade" and "Steel Blue" card stock
miscellaneous - MFT "MPD Time Pieces" and "Sentiment Strips" die-namics"; Tim Holtz' "Gadget Gears" die; baker's twine; breast cancer awareness charm; MFT "MPD Gears" stencil; Gelly roll clear star pen; Marvy scarlet pen

PIO #40 Favorite Color

Oh Deer Me!  Some sweet and civilized people might say something like that when they see these darling embellishments from the
Freckled Fawn, after all that is the name, but I assure you I am not a sweet thing and I said  something more like "Holy expletive deleted!" while my mouth dropped clear to the floor.  If I didn't have to use the products I received for this challenge I would be hoarding them. BUT I would be taking them out on a regular basis to drool over their gorgeousness.  They are just too beautiful to use up.  Thankfully there are two of all these in the package so I can still give this card away and have the others to hoard for myself.  AND yes I do know that I am a sick little puppy no tall that far away from an episode on some reality TV show, but let's face it who among you reading this can throw stones.
By the way the wooden chips can be painted or inked.  They are a part of the October Freckled Fawn subscription kit.  The kit is jam packed with lots of fun embellishements to use in your paper crafting, the giant bling I used also came from the kit.  If you want to snatch up a kit it's not too late to become a subscriber, just head over to Freckled Fawn for all the details.
And don't forget this week's challenge #40 at Pile It On is to use your favorite color.  Normally my favorite color is pink but in the fall that changes.  The colors of fall just know me out.  I get nuts over all those shades of orange, yellow, red and even brown can starts to look good to me.  It's a glorious time of year for color, so if you want to stray from your usual favorite color no one is going to know the difference.  Just have fun with the challenge and find at least one other challenge to enter and link your card or project up.  We can't wait to see what you come up with.

Here's the deets:
stamp - no stamps used
ink - I used my printer for the quote

A New Release and Anything Goes

Every other Friday we have a new challenge for you at Jellypark Friends.  This fortnight we've got an easy peasy one for you "Anything Goes".  That's it, there's no twists, and seriously when there's a twist doesn't that mean it really isn't anything goes anymore.  Whatever theme, whatever color, whatever embellishments, whatever images (of course we'd love to see some Jellypark Friend images if you've got them), it's up to you.   It's October, so if you want to do something for Breast Cancer Awareness go for it.  All you have to do is make it and link it up, we'll be glad you played with us.

My card is made with the brand spanky new image "Get Well Soon".  It's made with a little girl in mind but I imagine you could send it to an adult. If you want something a little more sophisticated for your adult friends don't fret today's other new release (Get Well Soon Medicine Bottle) will fit that bill.

There's a couple things that don't show up in the photo or are difficult to discern, that always annoys me.  Under the image, atop the lace, there's a charm tied on with pink burlap twine.  The charm is a band aid.  In real life it's adorable.  In the photo it just looks like a stick.  All of the hearts, and the drink on the night stand are covered with pink stickles.  Lastly the long stripey bar behind the image actually has a green  card stock border besides the white wavy border.  It wasn't until it was made and ready to be put on the card that I realized the card stock just blended right in with the patterned paper.  Even  the white wavy punched border blends in, that stripey paper has so many colors in it just about every card stock is going to blend in.  Oh well, what's a girl to do...

By the way, if you're a fan of Jellypark Friend images and are interested in being on the design team there's a call out for new members.  You can find the details by clicking here .

Here's the deets:
stamp - Jellypark Friends "Get Well Soon" digi

Close To My Heart - Day Dream
Miscellaneous - copics; Stampin' Up Corner Punch; EK Success border punch; Stampin' Up Subtles Candy Dots; Lace; burlap twine; stickles
