PWC324 Black, White Plus One

It's Wednesday, time for Paper Pretties PWC324 challenge. This week it's a really simple one, it's black and white plus one so all you folks who don't like to color this one's great for you.  You just have to add a little color highlight to play in this one.  You don't even have to use Paper Pretties stamps to play, but if you have them we'd love to see them.  So after you get your card or project finished  post them on the Paper Pretties blog and you'll be in the draw to win five digis of your choice.

Keeping with the simple color theme, I've kept my card clean and simple. There are many stamps that will look great with just a small section colored but not as many will tell the tale that this one, "Oh, Baby",does.  The story could be rewritten in pink.  And of course for those of you who feel that sex should not be defined by colors such as pink and blue, that bundle of joy could be any color you like.  A simple ribbon with a little black thread running through it is perfect for this theme and a charm hanging of the bow for a finishing touch and that's that.

Here's the deets:
stamp - Paper Pretties "Oh Baby"
ink - Memento "Tuxedo Black"
paper - Stampin' Up blue card stock (it's old and in a mismarked package)
miscellaneous - copics; ribbon; twine; baby blocks charm; Spellbinder's rectangle die

PWC323 - Boys Cards

It's time for Paper Pretties new challenge PWC323  "Boys Cards".  This is a good challenge for me because left to my own devices I usually make feminine cards.  BUT when I need a masculine card my Paper Pretties stamps are the best starting point. There's a slew of images that feature boys and men.  Go to the Paper Pretties store and check out Cooper, Zack and Luke stamps you know there's something for every masculine card you'll ever need to make.

This card features "Right On Par".  I don't understand what it is about golf that gets under peoples skin but almost everyone I know plays so this card won't stay in my stash for long.  When I make cards for men I try to keep the embellishments to a minimum.  I think you can add any kind you like, even bows and bling to masculine cards, you just have to keep them low key. I used gold pearls on the sentiment label and in the corner and that's it.

Here's the deets:
stamp - Paper Pretties "Right On Par - Clear"
ink - Memento "Tuxedo Black" and "Cottage Ivy"
paper - Bazzill "Parakeet" card stock; My Favorite Things "Natural" card stock; Echo Park "This and That" Patterned Paper Pack
miscellaneous - copics; Stampin' Up Modern Label punch; gold pearls; Spellbinder Rectangle dies

PWC322 - Thank You Cards

It's Wednesday, ugh, what's a gal to do?  The only sane thing is to head to you craft space and play along with Paper Pretties challenge PWC322 "Thank You Cards".   The rules are pretty simple, you know the usual stuff, no back linking, follow the theme and have fun.  You don't even have to use Paper Pretties products but if you have them we love seeing them.

I recently got my inky fingers on the "Celebrate Fall Combo" stamp set so I had to use it for today's challenge.  With chevron designs appearing everywhere it's nice that the dress and bowl in the stamp have chevron designs on them.  I picked them up in the patterned paper which was a gift from Heather (the queen of all things Paper Pretties) but I know you all can find those chevrons in punches, die cuts and embossing folders too.  OH, those little flags at the top of the card.  Sometimes I get lazy and don't feel like bothering to die cut things (I know, that's really lazy, but hey, I am what I am), I just cut them out with scissors.  It's not difficult so if you're on a budget that's a pretty easy way to decorate your cards using scraps.  If you can't see it, the leaf charm says "give thanks".

Every now and then someone asks me where I get the charms.  I look all over for them and will pick them up any place I see something I like.  However I don't like to spend a lot of money on them and in many instances they are expensive so I pass them by.  I like a bargain, and I've found that you can get some good deals on charms at Oriental Trading but you will be getting several of the same thing so you may want to go in on them with a friend.  Don't just look for them in the charms category, look under bracelets or jewelry.  Sometimes you'll find the same charms for less money.

Here's the deets"
stamp - Paper Pretties "Celebrate Fall Combo" clear
ink - Memento "Tuxedo Black"
paper - Xpress Blending card stock; Simple Stories "Summer Fresh" patterned paper; Bazzill "Apricot" and "Hillary" card stock
miscellaneous - copics; Stampin' Up Subtle Candy Dots, corner punch; ribbon; waxed twine, leaf charm

PIO#31 - Stiching - Real or Faux

It's about time for another Pile It On challenge.  At Pile It On there are two design teams and we alternate weeks, I'm so happy that this is my week because I got to play with a really adorbale image from our sponsor, All Dressed Up.  If I weren't on the design team I'd be making it a point to play in this week's challenge for a chance to win the prize which is 2 digi images.  So, if you'd like a chance to win your choice of 2 images all you have to do is enter your card or project into our PIO#31 challenge "Stitching - Real or Faux" (in case you don't know faux is French for false, so if you can't sew you can fake it by drawing some stitches on your work).  You need to enter it into at least one other challenge and that's it, you're in.
