The Cat's Pajamas Blog Hop

I can't believe the sneaky peeks are over.  It's been like a blur, it was so much fun playing along with the TCP design team.  I can't thank Alma enough for this and for all the goodies she so generously gave me.  Alma, you're a dear.  Thank you, thank you, thank you.

There's still a little bit of fun left.  Today there's the blog hop and release party. The real fun will be when you get your inky little fingers on your very own set of stamps and start playing with them.

If you're hopping along you should have gotten here from Amy Rohl's blog.  I know there was something fantastic there.  There always is.  When you leave here you're going to go to Carol Burrage's blog, I bet she'll have you laughing and marvelling at her talent.  I can't believe I'm sandwiched in between two such fantastic crafters.  If you lose your place along the way just go back to the beginning stop, Lori Tecler's blog (yeah, there's more great stuff there) where you'll find a list of participants in hop order, easy peasy.

Here's the deets:
stamp - the Cat's Pajamas "the New Nice"
ink - Memento "Tuxedo Black" and Color Box "Chianti"
paper - Bazzill "Patch" card stock; Stampin' Up "Soft Suede" card stock; Martha Stewart "Cottage Christmas" patterned paper pad

Thanks for stopping by, come back again.

If you're hopping your next stop is Carol's blog.  If you're not hopping, why not?  There's so much eye candy to be seen.  You really have to hop, it's the fun thing to do.  Besides your boss isn't looking.  Have fun and see you over at Splitcoast Stampers for the release party.

The Cat's Pajamas - Sneaky Peeks Day 7

It seemed like a good idea at the time.  The white wreath that is.  I guess I didn't think about the fact that all my doors are white. LOL.  And it's kind of funny that I while I was at the craft store I stopped in the stamp section and there was a stamp with the "it seemed like ..." sentiment, but they changed one or two of the words and I didn't like the change, believe me, if it had been my opening sentence exactly, I would have picked that sucker right up.  That is one of my favorite sayings...  Now let's get back to our regularly scheduled program of sneaky peeks, it's the last one before the blog hop and release on Tuesday.
Let's review -

The Cat's Pajamas is now 10 years old! Alma started making rubber stamps at her dining room table, hand cutting rubber and cushion and attaching them to wood blocks to sell to the local stamp stores where she was teaching.

So much has happened to stamping in 10 years. But our love of stamping is still going strong. So this release, we are excited to celebrate the way we started. With rubber stamps. Not just any rubber stamps. Cling Stamp sets for easy storage and positioning. Perfect for those who love rubber, but also love the convenience and ease of clear. Limited Edition because these stamps are extra special. Lovingly assembled at Alma's dining room table. Just like she did 10 years ago. So snap them up, because only a small number will be made. Her table is only so big.

There are Five Cut Ups Dies in this release. Along with some "classics" that belong in every die collection, we are so excited to introduce our "Toppers" line. They are shapes that you can use the positive and negatives of to create borders and panels. They are open-ended so that you can create panels of any size using the toppers. You can place them individually or use them together. Endless possibilities!

To decorate the wreath I made a few gingerbread people with the "Homemade for the Holidays" stamp set and the "Man" Cut Up.  I've got a couple other ideas of things to do with this die.  I'd like to make some felt ornaments and some gift tags.   If you have kids it would be fun to punch or stamp out a bunch and let your kids decorate them and use them on the teacher gifts.  I can't wait to see what the design team and the other swanky stampers have made.

Here's the deets:
stamp - The Cat's Pajamas "Homemade for the Holiday"
ink - Color Box "Frost White" and "Chianti"
paper - Bazzil "Tawny Medium" card stock
miscellaneous - the Cat's Pajamas "Man" Cut Up; Gunmetal stickles, wreath,  ornaments; bow

The Cat's Pajamas Sneaky Peeks Day 6

It's day 6 of the sneaky peeks of the Cat's Pajamas new release.  I hope you got a chance to shop for it during the Black Friday and Saturday sale.   I went shopping and I can't wait to get my goodies in the mail.  It's so exciting to get those boxes because you get to open them it's like getting a present.  To make it seem more like a present and a surprise I try to forget what I ordered.  It comes as no surprise that the older I get the easier this is to do.
Are you following the peeks on Splitcoast Stampers?  There's been a thread for each day of the release.  The Cat Pack and Swanky Stampers have been posting their cards and projects there giving you lots of inspiration and of course fun chatting.  Alma's been picking a winner for each of the sets from the comments.  There's still time to win today and tomorrow's sets so pop over and say "hey!" or anything that comes to mind.

Here's the deets:
stamp - "Tree-Mendous" and "Snow Kisses" for snowflakes around the sentiment
ink - Memento "Tuxedo Black" and "Teal Zeal"
paper - My Favorite Things "Sno-Cone" card stock; Cosmo Cricket "Joy Ride" dp
miscellaneous - copics; Glitzy Glitter; Divine Twine; snowflake charm; the Cat's Pajamas "Star", "Snowflake" and "Buttons" Cut Ups; felt

Here's a visual of the Cat's Pajamas products used on this card:

CIC188 - Jellypark

Can you stand to look at another dessert?  If you don't live in the states you may be fine with these cupcakes but if you've been to a Thanksgiving dinner this week you probably don't want to look at dessert for awhile.  At least you don't have to eat them, they're here for the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge CIC188.  This week we're sponsored by Jellypark Friends.  Yeah!  I love Jellypark (I'm on that design team too) so this week is a real fun challenge for me and you know I love the images.

All the woodland animals on the cupcakes look adoarable.  They made me think of the owls right away.   I loved coloring each one of them.  Put me in mind of Harry Potter's owl, what a gorgeous bird he was.  I fussy cut each one out then popped them up on the rectangles.    I made up a sentiment that would be good on a card for a friend, it could be a just because card, a thank you card or even a birthday card.

What do the cupcakes inspire you to create?  The sweeties can't wait to see what you do, so when you're finished with your card don't forget to link it up on the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge blog.

Here's the deets:
stamp - Jellypark Friends "Four Owls"
ink - hp printer
paper - Recollections "Kraft" card base; Bazzill "Patch: card stock; October Afternoon "Campfire" patterned papers

PIO #48 - Anything But Christmas

I'm very excited to be on this week's design team for the Pile It On challenge.  I'm excited because we got to use Flonz stamps.  If you like the vintage look then you'll love Flonz.  There are over a thousand stamps and most of them are vintage images.

The challenge is "Anything But a Christmas Card".  You're either loving that or hating that.  We thought it might be a refreshing break for those of you who've been crazily stamping away those cards you swore you would work on all year so they'd be done early.  I probably have enough Christmas cards for the next three years, hate me if you want, I understand.

As a child I watched lots of old movies.  Bette Davis and Fred Astaire movies were some of my favorites and I would watch them over and over.  The fashions in those movies were incredible.  To this day I love the clothes they wore, especially the dress up outfits.  In "Now Voyager" Bette Davis is transformed from an ugly duckling to a stunning sophisticated woman.  Even when she was wearing stodgy old lady clothes they were interesting but after the transformation her clothes were gorgeous.  In Fred Astaire movies you can pretty much rest assured you're going to see beautiful gowns on his dance partners and a tuxedo on him.

The image I used for this card reminded me of the scenes set in night clubs.  I stamped it in a pale grey ink, and used very very light copics almost like tinting it.   It's so pale, you can barely see the coloring in real life, yet alone in the photograph.  Afterwards I sponged over it and the edges of all the papers to further the vintage look.

Here's the deets:
stamp - Flonz "Restaurant Diner and Dance"
ink - Memento "London Fog"; Ranger "Vintage Photo" and "Tea Dye"
paper - Stampin' Up "Soft Suede" card stock; DCWV scraps of pink and green card stock; Graphic 45 "Le Romantique" Collection
miscellaneous - copics; pearls; burlap twine; shoe charm; burlap twine; machine stitching

Here's my challenges:

The Cat's Pajamas Sneaky Peeks Day 4

Today  my favorite kitty  makes her  appearance.  She's the reason I fell for TCP stamps.  My first TCP was a Sprinkles rubber stamp on a wood base that I purchased in a store that's since gone out of business.  I was still a newbie to the world of on-line card making and had no idea there was a website where I could purchase the whole line of TCP stamps nor did I know there were TCP challenges.

Now - It's our 10th Anniversary and we've decided to give a little something back this year. So on Black Friday and Saturday you can purchase all our NEW Limited Edition stamp sets and dies EARLY. Yup, that's before the official release. AND we'll give you FREE shipping in the US and FREE International Shipping on all orders over $65. Happy Anniversary from us to you!

I'd camp out for that deal!

As you can see Sprinkles has written her list for Santa.  I thought the list might be obscured when the card was finished so I took a pic of it for you.  I thought you might want to copy it and send a copy off to Santa.  I've already sent my copy off.  It's good to get your requests in early while supplies last.

How do you like that notebook top and serrated edge?  Totally cool, huh?  I LOVE IT.  I drew the lines with a ruler and blue fine point marker but it's the serrated edge that makes it special.  There's a few punches and dies out there and some are even in my collection but they don't have that edge and I really like that.  If you don't want the notebook look there's a plain edge in the set too.  You have got to get your hands on this set.  You'll be really glad you did.

Here's the deets:
stamp - The Cat's Pajamas "Naughty or Nice"  (definitely naughty)
ink - Memento "Tuxedo Black"
paper - Bazzill "Intense Kiwi" and "Frosted Teal" card stock; Stampin' Up "Orchid Opulence" card stock; Bo Bunny "Winter Joy - Brrr"  and "Winter Joy - Bundled a Gift of Love" dsp;

SFTW #22 - Texture

I hope you're lucky enough to be having a long weekend for the Thanksgiving holiday  If you're like me you'll likely to be sitting in your craft room happily making cards or scrapbooking so why not join the Stampin' for the Weekend challenge #22 to add "Texture" to your card.  If you'd rather be shopping, well then run along and have fun.
There's lots of ways to add texture to your card and texture adds interest. The light blue card stock layer is embossed with a Cuttlebug snowflake folder.  Textiles and fibers, like ribbon, cord, floss, twine and felt also add texture.  This card has a grosgrain ribbon.  There's glitter on the striped paper and the snowflakes.  The snowflakes also have pearls on them.  There's plenty more ways to add texture to your card.  Do you need some more ideas?  Then pop over to the Stampin' for the Weekend  challenge blog to see what the design team has created.  Those gals are not only very talented they're clever too.  You'll enjoy the visit.

The Cat's Pajamas Sneaky Peeks Day 3

I'm sorry this is so late, but blogger and I were not playing well together, but we're back now, yeah!

Today is Sneaky Peeks day 3 for the Cat's Pajamas new release which is scheduled for Tuesday BUT and this is great news, TCP is having a Black Friday sale and you don't have to leave the comfort of your home.

It's our 10th Anniversary and we've decided to give a little something back this year. So on Black Friday and Saturday you can purchase all our NEW Limited Edition stamp sets and dies EARLY. Yup, that's before the official release. AND we'll give you FREE shipping in the US and FREE International Shipping on all orders over $65. Happy Anniversary from us to you!

Now that's something for which I'm grateful.

Here's the deets:
stamp - the Cat's Pajamas "Soar"

When you use these star cut ups you will have lots of stars that you can use to embellish your card.  On my card I used them on the ovals that the image and sentiment are on.  There's still quite a few cut out stars that I've saved, you never know when you're going to need them.

The blue bling flourish was made by using a flourish die on vellum and gluing bling onto it.

Sneaky Peeks - Snow Kisses

Have you been waiting for some new Cat's Pajamas stamps?  Of course you have, well your wait is over, well, almost over.  In just one short week the new stamps will be released, in the meantime we've got sneaky peeks for you and there's chatting over on the Cat's Pajama's Forum on Splitcoast Stampers.  Come over and chat because every day starting Wednesday there's going to be a lucky winner of a stamp set picked from the posts from the previous day.

This release is special because The Cat's Pajamas is 10 years old.

Today's peek is "Snow Kisses".  The ever popular penguin is first up.  I get such a kick out of the penguins, and this fellow is no exception.  I don't know why but I'm always expecting them to be in trouble but they really are just cute fun loving guys.  This time there's just one penguin, and he's bringing a big old snowflake to you and snow kisses to you.  Also new in this release is the snowflake border.   This die is really cool because it only cuts on the outside and you can line it up to make it any length you need.

There are Five CutUps Dies in this release.

CIC187 - Fresh Brewed Designs

Gobble, gobble, gobble.  Can you believe the big turkey day is almost here.  This year it feels a little more like Thanksgiving than the last couple years have.  It's been cold enough the last couple days to wear a light sweater so it feels like fall but It doesn't look like fall.  Thanks goodness this photo showed up when it did.  It's the inspiration photo for this week's Cupcake Inspirations Challenge and the perfect reminder that Thanksgiving is here.  This week we're sponsored by one of our regular sponsors Fresh Brewed Designs.  I associate coffee

Sweet Music

This card is one of a set of four.  They will be a gift for a friend who is a retired music teacher.

I am so excited about some news I received today that I can't concentrate enough to come up with anything to say about this card.

Here's the big news - the Cat's Pajamas is having a new release next week.  Now that in itself is enough to get me excited but even more exciting is that Top Kitty Kat Alma is inviting all the swanky stampers to participate in the release and sneaky peeks.  And if you haven't guessed, yes I was a Swanky Stamper many moons ago.  I can't wait to play along.  So if you're a fan of the Cat's Pajamas, and seriously, who isn't, next week is going to be a lot of fun with peeks starting on Tuesday.  I don't know who else is going to play, but the swanky Stampers include some very talented people, you're sure to love what they do.  You can see it all, next week,  on the Cat's Pajamas' forum on Splitcoast Stampers.  We'll be looking out for you.

Jellypark Friends - I'm Hungry

This is my kind of challenge - this week's Jellypark Friends challenge is "I'm Hungry" use food or drink on your card.   It just so happens that I have quite a few images that fit this bill, I've got patterned paper that does too.  Some of my favorites have cupcakes or cakes on them.  Unfortunately, I think about food and drink way too often.  Fortunately, one of the good things about paper crafting is that I usually don't eat while I'm working so I don't get any mess stains my projects, at least not food stains.
For my card I've used "Girl and Cake."  She's a cutie holding that huge cupcake.  She looks like she's ready to take of taste of the icing.  She's colored with copic markers.  There's Glossy Accents on the cherry.  It doesn't show up very well in the photo but in real life it adds a little dimension and the shine.  If I had thought about it, a little bit of glitter on top of the Glossy Accents would have been a nice touch.  Well, something to remember for the next time.

Here's the deets:
