CIC240 - Robyn's Fetish

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, well at the Cupcake Inspirations challenge blog. Here in sunny Florida Santa and his elves are still sunny themselves in shorts and tee shirts in 85 degree plus weather so without these little cupcakes and the visual cues I see on the Internet I keep forgetting that Christmas really is on its way.  So for this week Cupcakes Inspirations Challenge CIC240  we'd like to see some sweet Christmasy looking designs and we've got Robyn's Fetish for our sponsor. If you play along you could be the lucky winner of 5 digi images!  Wohoo!  That's a great prize.  I'm particularly partial to the primitive designs but that's not all you can find there, go check out the store and then come back, my blog will wait.

For my card I chose the adorable "bella da snowlady" image.  I won't get to see too many snow people in my neck of the woods, which is quite all right with me.  I'll admire them in photos and drawings like this one which I just adore.  It was a lot of fun to color, and by the way, this week if you aren't inspired by our cupcakes you can use our colors, red, green and gold for inspiration.  That's a pretty easy peasy challenge at this time of year.

Here's the deets:
stamp - Robyns' Fetish "bella da snowlady"
ink - printer
paper - Bazzill "Maraschino" card stock; My Favorite Things "Timber Green" Card Stock; October Afternoon "Make It Merry" patterned paper
miscellaneous- copics; ribbon; green cord; snowman charm; pearls; corner punch

CIC228 Robyn's Fetish

As usual the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge has a photo that is making me drool as I write my post.  Fortunately for me and you the photos do not contain any calories and are here strictly for your inspiration.

This week we have Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps and More for our sponsor.  We've been lucky to have them a few times.  I particularly like the primitive style images they have but there are so many images in so many styles to choose from that a trip to the shop is a must for you.  Go on over now I'll wait for you to come back...

For my card I chose to work with the "Apple Cider" digi.  It's got that fall feeling.  Since I live in sunny Florida where the temperatures are still in the 90's and the palm trees don't change colors I needed to do a little seasoning of my own.  I was able to use the colors of the inspiration photo and pick up the chevrons from the cupcake papers.

Need some more inspiration?  Stop over at the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge blog and see what the rest of the sweeties created, I know they always knock me out with their work.  Then get busy making your card, we love to see what you do.  Don't forget to link it up.

Here's the deets:
stamp - Robyn's Fetish "Apple Cider" digi
ink - printer
paper - My7 Favorite Things "Orange Fizz" card stock; Bazzill "Rain" card stock; My Mind's Eye "Away We Go" patterned paper pad

CIC216 - Robyn's Fetish

Once again Cupcake Inspirations Challenge CIC216 has another mouth watering photo for your inspiration and we've got one of our long time friends, Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps for this week's sponsor.
Some of my favorite images from Robyn's Festish are  primitive in style but for this week's challenge I picked the English Tea Cup because of the flowers on top of the cuppies, that and I just happen to have a thing, not quite a fetish, just a thing for tea cups.

If you aren't inspired by the cupcakes you can use the featured colors like I did.  Besides using card stock in those colors the tea cup  is colored with the palest of the Copic Lavenders and the roses are multiple shades of pink with glitter.  In imitation of fancy porcelain tea cups I've lined the lip with gold glitter.  These colors are so popular you probably have several patterned papers that you can use.  So go dig them out and get busy making a card for our challenge.  The Sweeties can't wait to see what you create.

Here's the deets:
stamp - Robyn's Fetish "English Tea Cup"
ink - printer
paper -  Bazzill "Petunia", "Frosted Teal", "Intense Amythyst" and scraps of light pink card stock; Crafty Secrets "Heart Warming Vintage Collection"
miscellaneous - copics; Spellbinder's "Circle" and "Scalloped Circle" dies; lace; ribbon, Prima Rose; bling; The Cat's Pajamas "Heart Swirl" Cut Ups

Here's the challenges:

CIC204 with Robyn's Fetish

Happy Easter!  and for those of you who don't celebrate Easter - Happy Spring!  In keeping with the holiday Cupcake Inspirations has a lovely inspiration for you.  Those cupcakes are just adorable with the candy handles and robin's egg sitting atop the icing.  I'd sure like to get my hands on one of them.  If you aren't inspired by the cupcakes you can use the colors for your inspiration.  They are perfect for spring.

This week we have Robyn's Fetish is back sponsoring us.  You can find an image for any kind of card there and you can see some more samples on our challenge blog.  The sweeties always make beautiful samples.

For me it seems that while Spring has actually been here a week or so when Easter gets here it feels official.   That probably goes back to my childhood when Easter Sunday was the day that everyone finally broke out their spring finery.  We actually wore hats and gloves in those days.  But I digress...

For my card I used  Kid Bunny and made him lavender just like the bunny on the cupcake.  His bow and the card base are green.  The faux stitching and sentiment is done with a purple fine point marker.  One of the cool things about digital images is that you can make any size your printer will allow.  You can make this image fit on a tag to tie around an Easter basket and it would be especially cute if you colored the face and hair like the recipient's face and hair.

Here's the deets:
stamp - Robyn's Fetish "Kid Bunny" digi
ink - hp printer
paper - Recollections "Pink Plaid" and "Pink and White Daisies" patterned papers; My Favorite Things "Sour Apple" card stock; Bazzill "Intense Amythyst" card stock; Stampin' Up
"Pale Plum" card stock

miscellaneous - copics; My Favorite Things "Oval Stax" die-namics; ribbon; bling

Here's the challenges:

Ribbit

CIC156
Did this little guys put a smile on your face?  When that happens looking at an inspiration photo it's usually a good sign.  The sponsor this week's Cupcakes Inspirations CIC156 is Robyn' Fetish which is where I found the perfect image to go along with this photo.  Of course if you aren't into froggies there are lots of other things you can use for inspiration - the colors, the shapes and of course cupcakes.  Every challenge I look forward to watching the work of my fellow sweeties getting posted.  It's so fun to see what they make and then when the challenge goes live I get to see what you do.

This image is "I Toadily Luv U".  It cracks me up as much as the inspiration photo (I really am easily amused).  I paired it up with some new paper (ok, I broke my resolution to not buy any new paper, as if anyone including myself ever thought that was going to last).  I even made a flower.  I'm still having trouble using flowers but at least I'm getting better at making them.

Here's the deets:
stamp - Robyn's Fetish "I Toadily Luv U"
ink - hp printer
paper - the Paper Cut "Sno Cone" cs; Bazzill "Glow" cs; My Mind's Eye "Follow Your Heart" dp
miscellaneous - copics; ribbon;  My Favorite Things Jumbo Scallops and Scallopy Scallops die-namics; Spellbinders circle and inverted scallops dies; bling; brads; sewing machine

Get Cooking

Look at the size of that heart Lucy's carrying.  That must be at least a five pounder.  I think that five pounds might even be a challenge for me and I love bon bons.
The challenge for you is to make a card or project using hearts, a punch and embossing.   That's challenge #88 at Cooking It Up with Katie.  The sponsor this week is Robyn's Fetish.  The paper that the little girl is mounted on was embossed with the heart folder but it didn't photograph well, I tried taking shots from different angles but to no avail.  You're just going to have to take my work for it.

Here's the deets:
stamp - Robyn's Fetish digi "Lucy Valentine's girl"
ink - hp printer
paper - Recollections red base card; Bo Bunny dp (just a scrap with the name gone); Authentique "Uncommon" dp; Bazzill "Maraschino" cs
miscellaneous - copics; stickles; ribbon; twine; charm; heart bling; sewing machine

Here's the challenges:

Card Tag

Kind of like CatDog, it's both.  It's and easel card attached to a box with the image being a gift with a tag.  More about this later...

This week at Cooking It Up with Katie challenge #83 is fold some fancy flowers.  Now you don't have to fold flowers but we'd like to see a fancy fold (this easel card is very easy to do) and some flowers on your fancy card.  What makes a card fancy - I don't know but for mine I used a charm and some bling and thought that made it fancy.  If you play along you could win a prize from this week's sponsor Robyn's Fetish.

For this project I wrapped a jewelry box with the same card stock used for the card.  Cut a piece of card stock the same width as the box.  Fold the paper around the box.  With each fold score the paper.  Secure the wrap with red tape or score tape.

After you've finished your easel card place score tape or red tape on the bottom of the card to secure it to the box.  This easel card is 4" x 4" x 12" with folds along 4", 6", and the 8".   You can see from this photo how it's folded.  It's a very simple technique.  Just remember that you need to put something with a little depth on the inside so that when you open it up to stand something will catch the edge to keep it open.  Something as thin as a brad or button will usually work.

By the way, I wanted my burlap twine to match the ribbon on the image.  I didn't have any violet twine so I used a piece of ivory colored twine and colored it with the copic I used on the image.

Here's the deets:
stamp - Robyn's Fetish
ink - hp printer
paper - Bo Bunny "Winter Joy Magic" and "Winter Joy Bundled"; I think the cs is Nicole's
miscellaneous - copics; Taylor's Tiny Twinkles; flower brads; burlap twine; present charm; Spellbinder's Brommet Tag

For the Birds

CIC111 Inspiration Photo

This has been a couple of scary days in blogland.  I hope your blogs have all been restored.  My missing post was restored but the comments were not.  Hopefully I read what you wrote before the problems started.  I appreciate every single word you take the time to write.  Since Blogger is free I won't complain, in fact I'm down right grateful I can post my work here and share it with you and that I can go to so many of my favorite places to see what they are doing.

Let's get to this week's Cupcake Inspiration Challenege.  It's for the birds.

Those cupcakes are calling to me.    That fluffy icing wants me.  I do love icing, and some of them appear to have coconut on them.  YUMMMMM.  When I see those cuppies I have a difficult time thinking about anything else but I'll force myself.

Lucky for me Robyn's Fetish is sponsoring the challenge this week because this image is perfect for the challenge.  They've got tons of digi images available.  I gravitate to the cutesy and country looking images which abound there.   Go check it out, you'll find something you like.  Then check out the Cupcake Inspirations blog to see what the rest of the design team has created and get all the challenge details.

I think the inspiration is pretty obvious. I took the birdhouse theme and colors.

Here's the deets:
stamp - digi image "Waking Up Birdie"  from Robyn's Fetish
ink - hp printer; Ranger "Antique Linen" and "Pumice Stone"
paper - DMD Shrang- ri-la Pallette dp; Stampin' Up "Wild Wasabi" and "Soft Suede" cs; Georgia Pacific white cs
miscellaneous- copics; brads; buttons; twine; ribbon; nesties; chram

What will you do?  I can't wait to see your cards and projects so after you've finished don't forget to link them up.  I'm looking forward to visiting your blogs and galleries.

Cooking It Up

Every other week I make a card for the Cooking It Up with Katie challenge.  I've been doing this for awhile so you'd think I have it down to a science, but no, I'm almost always the last one to get my card off to Katie. Luckily for me she's a sweetie and she never complains.
This week the recipe for challenge #59 is to "use ribbons, tags and bows. Pretty easy, huh?  I thought so and I went on my merry little way, printed out this fun digi primitive bird house image from Robyn's Fetish (this week's sponsor) and got to work.  I love this dp from Cosmo Cricket, I think the little birdies are a perfect compliment for the birdhouse.
So what went wrong?  I forgot to write down the recipe, you'd think I could remember those three things (I thought I could).  I had my picture edited and ready to post it to Katie when I looked up the challenge # and noticed I was missing a tag!  Dang.  Well, luckily for me I could just tie a tag to my bow which is what I did, the problem, by then it was too dark to take a decent photograph.

don't forget the inside

A Recipe Challenge

Click on the pic to enlarge it
It's time for another recipe challenge at Cooking It Up With Katie.  This week we're sponsored by Robyn's Fetish.  I used one of her Valentine's digis for my card.  It's too cute.  Why don't you play along with us?  The recipe is metal, 2 patterned papers and brown.  If you'd like some more details, or to get some more inspiration hop on over to Katie blog.  If you raring to go make your card and then hop over there to link it up.
Besides the Robyn's Fetish image I used Stampin' Up Soft Suede card stock for the brown and SU Sending Love dp for the 2 patterned papers (by the way, if you're looking for a place to buy Stampin' Up products go visit my good buddy Maddy's SU shop, you can order on-line, that's what I do).  For the metal I used a charm (what a surprise!).
I also used those hellacious little Martha Stewart beads again.  I'm still picking up the little suckers from last week's card.  They're turning up all over the place. If they didn't look so dang good on the card I'd have to toss them, you're just going to have to take my word for it cause the picture just doesn't do them justice.
Here's the deets:
stamp - digi from Robyn's Fetish
ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
paper - Stampin' Up "Soft Sued" card stock and "Sending Love" dp; Recollections white cs
miscellaneous - blue moon charm; copics, Martha Stewart "Lace Hearts" border punch and garnet micro beads; MFT ribbon; stickles; nesties; Heidi Swapp bling
don't forget the inside

Tag You're It

Make a tag, how easy is that? Pretty easy for most crafters but not easy for me, I cringe when I see a challenge to make a tag.  And I rarely use sentiments on my cards.  Guess what, this week Katie's (that's Cooking It Up With Katie challenge) recipe includes a tag and a sentiment.  It's use food/beverage, a tag and a sentiment.

This week the challenge is being sponsored by Robyn's Fetish and she supplied this image so at least the food part was easy.  I like to hang things off my cards, mostly little tags and charms so I decided to make a hanging "thanks" tag and knocked off the other two parts of the recipe.  Hey, it really was easy.  As I was coloring the image the idea came to me that this would be a nice image to have on a bottle tag.  With Thanksgiving coming it's likely that you may be bringing a bottle of cider to a dinner and having a little tag to hang off of it would make it a very special gift.  If you're hosting a buffet and serving cider it would be nice to put the cider in a carafe and hang a tag like this on it.
So it turns out I can make a tag, even if I'm not comfortable doing it. So if I can do it, you can do it.  Make you project with the recipe and link it up on Katie blog (here).  Maybe you'll win a prize.

Here's the deets:
Stamp - Robyn's Fetish digital image
Ink - HP printer
Paper - Georgia Pacific cs for image; unknown cs for mats; Me and My big Ideas dp
Miscellaneous - Queen and Co yellow rhinestones; round corner punch; SU tag punches; ribbon; apple charm; linen twine; copics

It Must Be Love

Do you know anyone who looks like this couple?  I don't mean that they look like pigs, I mean that look "so in love".  Does your honey inspire this kind of warm gushy feeling in you.  No?  Me neither.
Are you thinking she's cheating on Kermit?  (remember - Easily Amused?  I can't stop myself)
These cute little piggies are a digital image from Robyn's Fetish.  That's this week's sponsor for the Cooking it Up with Katie challenge.  As usual Katie is dishing out a three part recipe, make it girly, lilac and add a bow.  OOOOOH, all three things that I like in my cards.  But for some reason I can't seem to edit my photos to show any shade of purple, and I've seen other people complain of this as well.   I hope to figure this out some day, cause you can't see the lovely shade of lilac in the dp, or that Ms. Piggy is wearing a lilac outfit.  For some reason the ribbon looks lilac (so why doesn't everything else?  inquiring minds Need to know).
Why don't you hop on over to Katie's challenge and see what the rest of the design team has come up with, I know there are a couple other images from Robyn's Fetish that are being used.  I'm sure Katie has a link for you so you can shop over at Robyn's Fetish and there's a link for you to enter your card or project for a chance to win a prize.  If you have the time leave some love, we all enjoy reading your comments.

Here's the deets:
Stamp - Digital image courtesy of Robyn's Fetish
Ink - hp printer
Paper - (By odd coincidence) Piggy Tales (it's double sided and the dark mats are made from the reverse side); DCWV cs for base and mat (the base is actually a beautiful shade of sage green and the piggy mat is olive); Georgia Pacific cs for the image
Miscellaneous - copics, SU corner punch; sheer dotted Swiss ribbon; love charm; EK Success flowers

Here's the challenges:

A Fruity Angel

The angel's not really fruity, but the challenge is.  We hope you'll join us this week at Cooking It Up With Katie for a Fruity Circle and paper piecing challenge.  I love to paper piece, I think that's my favorite technique.  I guess it puts me in the mindset of childhood days and playing with paper dolls.  Do they have paper dolls, anymore?  I did get a book of Shirley Temple paper dolls someplace on-line as an adult but even so that was many years ago.  I used to buy them in the five and ten cent store and I never see those stores around anymore.  I guess with inflation they've been replaced by dollar stores.  The five and dime used to have a section with coloring books and paper dolls.  My allowance was often spent on those books and crayons.  These days I've seen a few coloring books at the local drug store but no paper dolls.  But I digress...
One of the other things I picked up as a kid was a book of embroidery stitches.  It also had instructions for crocheting and knitting in it.  I could barely read the instructions but I was able to follow the pictures.  I learned every stitch in that book and I decorated many things with embroidery.  I guess that was the start of my lifelong love of crafting.  When I was putting these felt buttons together I used a couple of those stitches I learned so many years ago.  If you click on the photo it'll enlarge and it'll be easier to see the blanket stitch, the daisy stitch and chain stitch.  It took a little time to do but time spent crafting is fun time for me.
I hope you'll come join us over at Cooking It Up With Katie, you can get all the deets about the challenge, get some inspiration from the cards created by the design team and  and you can link up your creation for a chance to win a prize by clicking here
