Bunny crazy

Recently I was in a discussion with some DT buddies about Easter candy, which eventually led to me saying that I have lots of silly stuff and would have them with or without kids.  As I was writing that I realized I must have a hundred bunnies around the house, but I'm not going to count them.  However if you're up for it I am going to show you just a sampling of them.

These two are the ones I use to torment the dog.  They both move and make noises of some sort.  The one on top of the books hops, speaks and boings when you press his paw.  The pink one is a dancing hamster in  a bunny costume (we have a few more animals in bunny costumes), when you press his paw he dances and sings something like "mamma's little bunny loves Easter, Easter".

Mostly snow bunnies here.  It's hard to see but in the center of the dish is a troll in a bunny costume.  I do have a thing for other animals in bunny costumes.

The bunny in the center is inside a choclate egg.  It's too cute.  Lots of little guys here.

Sorry about the glare in this pic, but the shelf is in front of a window so picture taking is tough.

These guys were gifts from my Aunt.  They creep my daughter out, I have no idea why.  I can't get rid of them because my aunt visits and will want to know why they aren't out.

There are some home made bunnies around too.  The little girl in the lavender bunny costume was made for my mother way back in 1974.  It's a miracle it's survived over the years especially since it almost didn't make it to the paint stage.  I took a ceramics class with my mom back then and when I was cleaning the seams on this one it fell out and the head and tail broke off and one of the ears broke off the head.  I managed to get it all back together.  When mom passed it became mine.

One year I made a bunch of bunny angels.  It's made from felt and has pipe cleaners inside so that it can be posed.   I also cut out a few that I never got around to sewing, who knows maybe one day this one will have a few friends.
I made this little wall quilt in 1993.  It was hung in the guest bath in my New Jersey home for a long, long time, it hasn't found an appropriate spot here so for now it's only out for Easter/Spring decoration.

The bunny on the right was painted in 1989 and is a little worse for wear but I can't bring myself to get rid of him.  On the left the chickie winds up and poops out jelly beans.  Gross, I know but I can't resist.

This ceramic bunny is a San Francisco music box.  He was hiding in my NJ attic for years. I just couldn't find him, if you saw what a mess my attic had become over the years you'd understand.  He's my second favorite bunny and was a gift from a dear friend, which made his reappearance very special.  My favorite bunny has disappeared in our move from FL to NJ.  I sewed her and a cutesy spring outfit for her to wear.  She was large, at least 3 feet from ears to paws.
Maybe I'll be lucky and she'll turn up in one of the few boxes I haven't unpacked otherwise I hope whoever lives where she was left is enjoying her.

If you've made it this far, thanks for hanging
in there.  I'll just share one more.  It's hard to see but in the foreground of the pic there are a couple of wind up pins.  I think they're from Hallmark.  I get a kick out of toys that move, I tell you I'm just one big kid.
The carrot is a pen, don't know if it still writes i didn't test it out but it's still cute.

I haven't shown you all of the bunnies in this house, it would just be way too long a post but by now you can see that the place is overrun.

Thanks for hanging in there.  I hope you'll come back again.
