Desperate Housewife

Not her silly, me. There's nothing desperate about that woman, she's totally in control, anyone who cooks in pearls and a dress is one cool customer. Now me on the other hand, I do not cook in my Sunday best cause I am messy, I'm good but I wear it all. Same thing when I eat, I'm one of those types you can't take anywhere unless you don't care that I'm gonna spill and look horrible by the end of the meal.
So why am I desperate, you ask. Well I'll tell you. I decided to make a card for the April Guest Designer Challenge at MFT and as it is, I have taken very little supplies with me (oh, we're in parts south, yeah Florida! - any northern thieves beware we left Shamus in charge of the house) and the challenge is to make a masculine card and use metal. Well, I took this WTG stamp set "Lovin' from the Oven" and a couple PI's but not one of the boys (by the way if any of you know where the heck I stowed the boy and his dog from the last release please tell me cause he seems to have run away from home). So I finally decided that I would use the WTG and go with darker more masculine colors, blue is for boys right? And one of the dp's is a paisley print they use that on men's ties right? So I'm on the masculine side. So I go to ink up my stamp and can't find a mounting block. When I threw the few items I took with me in my messenger bag I failed to put in a block. So as I looked around "desperately" trying to figure out what to do I saw my camera and realized it's about the same size as the stamp so I stuck it on. It worked! Voila! Not so easy to see through the camera and as I stamped a couple times in order to cut out paper pieces I hit the one off switch and the lens popped up. I would have taken a photo to show you what it looked like but you can see how that might be a problem. Use your imagination, and when you have that image of me with camera in hand stamping away you can laugh about it, it won't hurt my feelings.
So here's the rest of the deets:
stamps - MFT "Loving from the Oven"
ink - Memento Tuxedo black
color - Prismacolor pencils
paper - the dp is Basic Grey "Skate Shoppe" package; the cs is Best Occasions and Nicole
punches - Martha Stewart "tag"; EK Success "Moroccan Lace" border
miscellaneous- pin from Spare Parts; ribbon MFT, Liquid Pearls, Glossy Accents on bowl, beads "Rhinestone Stickers", glitzy Glitter on the cupcake
The Challenges:
MFT April Guest Designer - Make a Masculine card and use metal (the beads and pins)
Crafty Creations - Anything Goes
Cooking It Up With Kate #14 - Something New (I just got this pin last week have others but this one came from a new package, and it's the first time I've used this stamp set) Something Old (the paper is not new, I think I've had it for two years, Something Sweet well, WTG is always sweet and she's mixing up something sweet, and there's a cupcake inside
Rosie D's Challenge 68 - Blessings (if you've got someone in the kitchen cooking for you that's a blessing, ask anyone who has to do the cooking, that and the talent to make these cards and forum to share them with you all is a blessing - yeah, the Internet is a blessing [and a curse])
For Fun Challenges - Anything Goes but family friendly (that could be June Cleaver in the apron and you don't get any family friendlier that that)
So that's it for this card, I'm so glad you came to visit, if you have the time leave a comment. Before you leave click on the pink ribbon, let's help get some free mammograms out there, and of course I hope you'll come back again.
