This week the Pile It On challenge is "Decorative Tape", you know, like Washi tape. The challenge is sponsored by Freckled Fawn who are giving a $15.00 gift certificate to the winner. too bad I can't play along, there are some very cute embellishments I have to have. They have lots of Washi Tape if you're interested. It's amazing how many colors and patterns of that stuff you can get. For those of you who have to have everything this could be a problem, at least it's not expensive or bad for your health.
Cherry Cobbler is a favorite of mine. It's a beautiful, rich, deep shade of red. These two cards are almost the same. The first card was made with Cherry Cobbler and a white card stock. The red and white looked great together until the washi like tape was added. Even though it's red and white it doesn't read as red and white on top of the lined paper. Kraft looks great with red too so I made a second card using Kraft card stock instead of the white card stock. Looking at the two of them in real life it's hard to pick a favorite. The image really pops on the white card stock but it matches better on the kraft and has a vintage look that I like.
Here's the deets:
stamp - Stampin' Up "Friendship Preserves"
ink - Versamark
paper - Stampin' Up "Cherry Cobbler" card stock and ""Regals Collection" dsp; My Favorite Things "Whip Cream" and "Kraft" card stock
miscellaneous - SU Cherry Cobbler embossing powder; pearls; Recollections tape; SU Framelits "Window Frame Collection"; SU "Festive Paper Piercing Pack

This design is fab! Love the combination of striped paper and tape with dog tooth's pattern, and what a great vibrant red color!
ReplyDeleteThey are both really cool, Chris. But I think I like the vintage one best. Probably because I'm old. ;^)
