Let's Twist Again

Thursdays seem to come around quickly these days. I look forward to seeing the new challenges. I always look forward to the Twisted Thursday challenges. Even though I have the inside track and see it early I still get excited about it.

When I was pregnant I had an amniocentesis (spelling? yeah who cares) and we opted to find out the gender of our baby. At least we could stop fighting over baby boy names but the point of this story is that when my daughter was born even though I knew she was going to be a girl, it did not take detract from the thrill I felt when I heard those magical words "it's a girl". So even though I know what this week's challenge is, it is still a kick for me to go over to the Shirley's 2 Girl challenge blog and view the new challenge.

August is "Back to School" month at S2G and this week's twist is to use notebook paper. For my card I used the digi "School" image (you can find it here) and the "Back to School" digi papers (you can find them here).     I added a little piece of Basic Grey "Basics White" (thanks to my great girl scout friends for that gift) paper. It's hard to see because I put the button over it but that edge of the paper was punched with a Stampin' Up border punch to look like the edge of a paper torn out of a book. I used my blue Copic marker to write part of a "How I Spent My Summer Vacation" paragraph on it. Silly, but cute. Of course I couldn't resist putting a charm on it somewhere but I didn't have a ribbon in my layout so I made a buttoney bow with a Stampin' Up button layered on a cardstock button. I tied some twine through the button holes and hung my charm off that.

Did you know that Shirley's 2 Girls is having a BOGO sale on their clear stamps. What a great way to build up your stash of 2G images. I just took a look at what's available. You can get something to make your holiday cards, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas! There's welcome baby and Valentines images too, even Cinco de Mayo! There's cats and dogs and coffee. Basically there's something for everyone. You could even pick a few to give away as gifts.

Here's something else you might not know about S2G's.  We have a tutorial page.  You can learn how to work with digi images there.  Our very talented DT member Cat has posted a tutorial on how to put an image on a plate.  There's one on how to make a packet/pocket card.  AND we'd like to hear from our followers what you'd like to see.  Have you seen something that you don't know how to do, if one of us knows how to do it we'll pass post a tutorial on it.
