Yesterday was a big day for my "little" girl. She went back to school AND she finally received her driver's permit. I'm so afraid of her driving in particular, it's her driving my car that gets to me. I'm just a little possessive. I guess I'm going to have to work on that, or pray my hubby is less possessive of his.
This is my card for the weekly My Favorite Things sketch challenge, using the Pure Innocence "Making a List". I thought her dress was a perfect spot for paper piecing. When I piece something like this dress, which has another item in front of it, I also piece that section. To me it's easier to do it that way then to try to cut all around those little spaces and in person it gives it a bit more of a dimensional look.
With a dark card stock base it's a good idea to do something with the inside that includes a spot of white for adding your note.
