Yesterday I was catching up on some of my favorite blogs and one of the places I stopped by is Joanne B's Just a Little Something. Every now and then Joanne issues a challenge and she's got one going now. It's a three week challenge and she's got lots of goodies up for grabs so stop by and have a look see. The first challenge is paper piecing and that's one of my favorite techniques so I knew what I was going to do today. I also wanted to make something for the Splitcoast Fan Club challenges which this month is Bold, Masculine and Dirty. Well, what I ended up with is muted, boyish and fresh. For me masculine is the biggest challenge out there. The only thing I come up with for masculine is brown. Have you noticed that's the color for most men's cards. Well at least I tried, I don't know if I'll post it in the fan club or not. I'll have to think on it for awhile, but it's definitely going to Joanne's challenge. And I can squeeze out the Allsorts Week 40 Challenge - a Tag, Ticket or Label because I punched out a tag with a Martha Stewart punch and wrote my sentiment on it.
Here's the rest of the deets: it's stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on a Cream MFT Perfect Panel, the parts that aren't pieced are colored with copics. The yellow mat is Warsau Paper and it's been punched with Nesties. The dp for the pieces and layers is Stampin' Up "To the Nines". I wish you could feel that ribbon, it's from MFT and is really neat, it's sort of like suede. The felt snowflakes are Creative Impression with a button on top. Hey Jo, how about a flakey bow? Yeah, not quite as cool as a buttony but it works here. The snowflakes and the image panel have Glitzy Glitter on them to simulate snow. The edges of the papers have been sponged with Ranger Scattered Straw and Vintage Photo. Some of the dp has been distressed. So it can go in the Paper Sundaes 6th Challenge to Distress.
So that's today's card. Thank you for visiting, I hope you'll come back. Please click on the pink ribbon before you leave.
