Official Dork

It's official, I'm a dork. You probably knew this already or at least suspected as much. Why is it official today you ask, it's because I named the laundry detergent "SOME". Unless you click on the picture to blow it up you probably can't even see it but I'm dorky enough to point it out.

I hate housework in general but I actually like washing clothes. It's very tactile, I especially love clean fluffy warm towels when they come out of the dryer ad if they smell like bleach, that's the jackpot. Hey I told you I'm a dork.

Because I love laundry when I saw this stamp set I wanted to buy it but it was out of stock. I went back to the There She Goes website but it was out of stock again. When it was out of stock the third time I looked I was beginning to wonder but a couple weeks ago when I looked it was in stock so I nabbed it but I find myself wondering how many other people are out there stamping a laundry basket. More importantly are they stamping it because they like laundry?

This week the challenge at There She Goes is Worn, Torn and Distressed which seemed to be the perfect for laundry, well for my laundry. I enjoy distressing so this was a fun challenge for me. I combined it with a sketch and color challenge and Voila! the card practically makes itself.

So here's the deets:
Stamps - There She Goes "Loads of Fun"; plaid background stamp (not labeled - I got it on e-Bay)
Ink - Tuxedo Memento Black; Ranger Tea Dye; Stampin' Up Cameo Coral
Paper - Stampin' Up Not Quite Navy, Cameo Coral and Certainly Celery card stock; Martha Stewart Playful Pink Paper Pad green print dp
Miscellaneous - copics; nestibilities; SU clear embossing powder; SU tag; Spare Parts green clip; thread; pink bling
Here's the challenges:
The Color Throwdown #97 - Certainly celery, Not Quite Navy and Cameo Coral
There She Goes -TSG #59 Worn, Torn and Distressed
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you'll come back again. Please click on the pink ribbon before you leave, it's a good thing.

  1. Yes, you are a dork but I love you anyway!!! Great card - I love the inside sentiment - too funny! P.S. I'm a dork too in case you forgot for a second!

  2. So unique and love the way you used the detergent bottle on the dangling tag! Definitely a 'loads of fun' card!

  3. Yo dork ! Love the card though I can't relate as I don't do laundry ! But it is really nice you are such a talented dork !! Luv ya <3

  4. For some strange reason, I like laundry too! I think it's because it's a complete process...I can start and finish it in a set amount of time. No unfinished projects (unlike my crafting)! It's a great card! Thanks so much for playing along with us at the Throwdown!

  5. Chris, you may be a dork, but we love ya anyway!! ;) Great card!! Like the tag!

  6. I love this card, but was wondering WHY you called the soap "some"? Just a misspelling or was another word in your head at the time? That's what happens to me! I love doing laundry too but I wish I had a magic fairy to put it in the drawers!! Fun, cute, card any way you look at it!

  7. LOL- this is cute! love the distressing! i too stalked the TSG site until this set was back in stock 'cause don't all of us Moms ALWAYS have laundry to do!? i like to wash too but get lazy carrying it upstairs & putting it away!

  8. You are too funny Chris! I love your card! That stamp is adorable! I can see why you wanted it so much!
