Wade E Bug

I'm pretty lazy and would crank out square and rectangular card after card if I weren't challenged to do otherwise. So thanks to this week's Paper Pretties Challenge PWC136 to use a unique or non-traditional fold I've stepped outside my comfort zone to make an easel card. Looks snappy, huh? Well, easel cards are really easy to make. Mine is a 12" x 4" piece of card stock, folded in half at the 6" mark and then at 2" away from that fold, scored to fold in the other direction. That may not make sense to you, so here's a link to a Splitcoast Stampers tutorial. After you go through the tutorial my very simplistic directions will become clear as mud. Ah, ha, ha, I do entertain myself.
This card features Wade E Bug (you can buy him here). He's adorable and is the perfect size for this card. Of course he would look good on any card. Don't you love that sentiment "Show Off". It's a great choice for a congratulatory card. The layering of the zig zag strip, the rick rack ribbon and the sentiment make the little platform that stops the top when you want to stand it up. You could use buttons or flowers to do this too. It just needs to be a like a miniature doorstop.
The challenge isn't limited to easel cards, you can make any fancy or different fold you'd like. At Paper Pretties we just want you to join us. So come out and play with us, make a card and link it up on the Paper Pretties challenge blog, you could be a winner. You don't even have to use Paper Pretty products but if you have them why not use them.

Need more inspiration? Check out what the rest of the design team has made. I can't wait to see all the cards, I'll be looking there first thing cause I want the inspiration to push myself a little more this year.

Here's the deets:
stamp - Paper Pretties "Wade E Bug"
ink - Memento Tuxedo Black; Ranger "Worn Lipstick"
paper - Cosmo Cricket "Gal Friday" dp; Best Occasions yellow and white cs; Georgia Pacific white cs for stamp
miscellaneous - copics; mini brads; SU slot and corner punch; Creative Memories cutting system; stickles; rick rack, charm; pin
