New and improved, that's what the new year should bring. I wish you all a new and improved life. But the real reason I chose that title was because Jen Del Muro has made some changes to her "A Sketch for You to Try" challenge. Rather than end the challenge she's decided to go with a monthly post. There are other changes as well and if you're interested you can read about them here.
This card was made using her January sketch. This month her sponsor is the Cat's Pajamas so I'm thrilled for an excuse to pull out this "Forget About the Cake" bunny. Actually I used two stamp sets for this card, if you look closely you'll see that the "Happy Birthday" sentiment is stamped over and over and over on the cross element - look under the ribbon. Another detail you may not notice is the swirls I drew in the icing of the cake. I used a gelly roll pen, it doesn't show so well in the photo but in real life it's a nice touch. There's also stickles on the candles, bunny's nose and in between the cake layers.
To keep my New Year's resolution I finished off the inside of the card.
Here's the deets:
stamp - the Cat's Pajamas "Forget About the Cake" bunny; the Cat's Pajamas "Birthday Bunny" sentiment
ink - outside bunny stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, inside bunny and sentiment stamped with Close to My Heart Ocean
paper - the Paper Co violet cs for base, icing, and mats; Stampin' Up Old Olive cs for mat; DCWV cs for turquoise mat; polka dot dp from American Crafts; flowery cs Piggy Tales Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs; striped dp is unmarked
miscellaneous - MFT ribbon; charm acharmingplace.com; the Cat's Pajamas Divine Twine; stickles; Recollections mini brads; the Cat's Pajamas Icing Cut Up and Button Cut Up; copics; stickles; floss; felt
