Who doesn't love a sketch? It's the easiest starting point for making a card or a scrapbook layout. The first Wednesday of the month is a sketch challenge at the Paper Pretties blog and you have got to love Frances for coming up with the best sketches. One of the reasons I love this sketch is the triple rectangles. Something about threes get my attention. For this sketch you could repeat one image three times or go for three different images. It's your choice, you can flip it around, change the rectangles to circles or ovals or whatever works with your card. You can make it plain and simple or you can embellish it. The sketch is just a starting point. You don't even have to use Paper Pretties products on your card but if you've got them we'd sure love to see what you do with them.
The images I chose for my card are from a set that are either retired or on backorder. I was going to give you a link to the set but since I couldn't find them in the store I decided to give you a link to another fun set of stamps that would be great for this sketch. Sassy Shoes would be perfect for this layout. I just ordered that set so I don't have them for this week's challenge, but when I get my inky little fingers on them I'll be looking for this sketch.
I decided to stamp outside of the boxes, so to speak. The images I used are a little bigger than the squares I planned for the mats which I think they're just the right size so I stamped and colored the images and cut them out. They are popped up on the card with dimensionals. I love it when you can do something so simple to get your card to work.
