Heartbreakingly Cute

If you've been visiting my blog lately you may have noticed these adorable little girls have been making a lot of appearances. She's "Pure Innocence" from MFT and I adore here. The only challenge I had in mind when I started was the Color Dare Challenge #54 to use Crushed Curry, Kiwi Kiss, Brilliant Blue and Kraft. I knew I wanted to make the skirt plaid and that there's some SU dp (Murfield)hiding in my stash that fit that bill. So I pieced the skirt and then colored the rest of the image with copics and covered the hearts with pink Glitzy Glitter. I had planned to use this for the Featured Stamped challenge on Splitcoast but the image was too big for what I planned so I had to rethink the card. I hadn't done the Sweetest Thing Sunday Sketch Challenge #55so that's where I got my layout. This week her card is particularly adorable, it's a boy's birthday card in really bright and cheerful colors. This card is for my grandson. I think the Color Dare colors help make it boyish.
I was blurfing (I didn't make up that word, one of you clowns did, it's blog surfing smooshed into one word) around and went to visit Kate of Cooking It Up with Kate. She said that no one had done her challenge this week, well I hope she gets some more responses. She usually gives a three part recipe, sometimes I find it difficult but I was able to squeak this one in. The recipe for challenge #10 is:
1.) Home or Family theme - this is for a family member
2.) Punch something - the yellow card stock is made with Martha Stewarts Lacey Hearts border punch
3.) Use a sticker - the candy hearts are Jolee stickers, I've used almost all of them and I'm really going to miss them when they're gone, they're so cute and everyone, absolutely everyone knows the candy they're made to look like. I packed a box of them off with the card.
What do you think of the thin yellow "ribbon". If you use a border punches then you're probably familiar with those little ribbons of paper you end up with. I usually toss them out but today I got a little obsessive compulsive (did I hear a snicker?) and made them into ribbons with "I {heart} U" written across it. May I suggest that if you aren't a little OC yourself you don't attempt to do that. It doesn't take that long but it is a tad tedious.
The only deets I haven't mentioned are that the image and its mat are cut with Nesties and I did some sewing on the papers. I have this really bright yellow thread that was perfect for the Crushed Curry.
And again, there are a few more challenges it can go into - like I've been saying, everybody's looking for Valentines:
OCC - Masculine Valentine (hey! it's blue and for a boy, I think it's close enough)
Crazy 4 Challenges #23 - Be My Valentine
Pile It On Challenge 5 - To the One I Love (PIO's theme is to combine it with at least on other challenge)
The Pink Elephant #53 - Mushy, Gushy, Valentine (this is mushy, gushy by my standards)
Tuesday Taggers - Love Is All Around
Simon Says - Love
Charisma Cardz Challenge Week 6 - Think Male
I think that's about it for now. I still have to make a couple more Valentines so I'll probably be seeing some of you again. I really love to read your comments. They are the highlight of my day, I don't know what that says about my day but since I'm smiling when I do this it can't be bad.
Thanks for visiting, please click the pink ribbon before you go.
