Back to School

Do you know the commercial for the store Staples where they play the Christmas carol "It's the Most Wonderful time of the Year"? I love that commercial, especially when the father is hanging off the cart rolling down the aisle. It just cracks me up (remember I'm easily amused). When you're married to a teacher and you have to work while they get to hang out all summer well that commercial hits the nail on the head. Not that I'm jealous, there's no amount of summer vacation that could lure me into a classroom full of children, especially since they've outlawed corporal punishment, LOL. Seriously, I worked as a full time temporary teacher for awhile. I had the classes of teachers who were out on sick leave. I had an art teacher's class for about 6 weeks. It was quite a learning experience, for me, not the kids. What I learned was that not every kid liked art class. That came as a total surprise to me, because it was my favorite class. The other thing I learned was that I hated teaching which was equally surprising because I loved going to school.
This card is for the OCC Challenge to use the new In Colors from Stampin' UP and for the Sketch Saturday Challenge #65. The new In Colors are Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede, and Dusty Durango. I used SU Razzleberry DSP to mat my stamped image, for the strip behind the image and the paper with the punched edge. I used a piece of cardstock from DCWV neutrals for the base and it looks like Dusty Durango. The other colors are the crayons. It ain't easy writing those names in those little spaces on the crayon but I did dang nabbit, don't let anybody say I didn't go for the gusto. The white cardstock was edged with CTMH Desert Sand. The flowers are Prima and the button centers are from My Favorite Things.
There's another tune that'll be stuck in my head for hours, but I'll be chuckling as it plays.
