Distressed Birdcage

The Pile It On Challenge #9 is to use three flowers and to use at least one other challenge. The 2 Red Bananas challenge is to use a quote as your focus and the Simon Says Challenge is to Distress. Three fun challenges.
The first booth I visited at CKC was selling Basic Grey products. I picked up a few things there including this paper with the birdcages on it because I knew it would go so well with this stamp. It's from the Porcelain line which I've had my eye on in the past but I've only had this stamp a short time so now was the time to get it. There were a variety of challenges going thru my head and distressing is just so much fun so it was my first choice to combine with the stamp and the paper. The line "I know why the caged bird sings" kept coming to mind but the birds are all out of the cages so I had to find a different sentiment. This quote "A bird doesn't sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song" appeals to me so I wrote it up on a piece of card stock so that I could tear that up too. Putting the flowers on was just a little icing on the cake. They look a little dark in the photo, not so much in real life. I like the way this one came out, I hope you do too.
