This is the fourth and last $1 notebook from Michael's. I altered all of them using old MFT sketches. MFT is approaching the 100th sketch challenge, they post a new one every Thursday on the MFT Forum on Split Coast Stampers. So just for fun some of the stampers have challenged each other to see how many they've done or get get done by the time they reach the 100th sketch. This week is 93 so there's still a little time to get them done. I'm not so sure I'll get them all done but I'm willing to try.
So this notebook used sketch MFTSC18 for the layout. The Simon Says Challenge this week is Anything But a Card and the Crafty Creations Challenge #28 is to use Yellow, any shade of yellow, bright yellow or soft yellow.
This notebook has a red cover so I covered it in red card stock. Then the hunt was on for a paper that had yellow in it and would go well with the red and look good with the image I had picked. I can't believe that this paper didn't just jump to mind. It's one of the newest papers in my stash. I had pulled out another package of red and yellow paper but wasn't crazy about it but as soon as I pulled this package out my search ended. This is Basic Gray's June Bug. The first time I saw these papers I was drawn to them. Must be a throwback to all those years of wearing plaid uniforms. This paper is double sided and I used both sides of the Vintage Plaid paper to piece the dress and jacket on the image. I used the Park Bench paper for the back ground paper. The image is stamped in Memento Black on white card stock and colored with copics. CTMH cranberry was sponged around the edge of the white card stock. The stamped image was matted with yellow and black card stock. I punched a strip of yellow card stock with a Martha Stewart border punch and adhered it next to the Park Bench paper.
I enjoyed altering all four of these books so much that I hope I can find some more of them to purchase.
