This week's My Favorite Things challenge is to create something black and white. You can use color on the stamped image but the rest has to be black and white. I have a couple packs of black and white paper. I am partial to black and white prints, I really like to see it punched up with a primary color but today's card didn't lead me that way. Once I decided on the image I wanted to use, I knew I would paper piece the woman's dresses and that I would use black and white patterned paper for that. With the paper picked out I went thru the MFT sketches to find one that I thought would work well with the papers and stamped image. This card practically made itself. I picked the sketch challenge #47, I think I have about 90 more sketches I'll need to do so that I can get all 100 sketches done. Just a little exaggeration but it feels like it. I would really like to have them all done when they hit the 100th sketch.
The No Time To Stamp challenge #99 is to use the word friend on your card, make a card for a friend. This image is from the WTG (Who's That Girl) line of stamps. These stamps celebrate women, they capture the moments that are the core of our beings and they often show friends doing things together, from shopping, drinking and dining to supporting each other in our fight against breast cancer. Which reminds me. While you're here would you please go over to the left sidebar and click on the pink ribbon, it'll help support free mammograms for women who need them. It won't cost you a penny and it only takes a second. If you do it now after you're done you can just back click to get right back to here.
This card also works for the ABC Challenge. It's "Z" for "Zero Embellishments". I love embellishments but this card looks okay to me with nothing on it so I left it that way.
Since I used black card stock for the base I put a piece of white card stock that was punched with the Stampin' Up Scalloped Eyelet punch over a strip of the paper used on the front of the card.
Gorgeous very striking - love the paper piecing..
