Christmas in August

I can hear my husband groaning and that's quite a feat since he's all the way down in Bradenton, FL and I'm in parts unknown, PA. He's very loud. Nah, but he was grumbling in the comments about my the Halloween cards. He doesn't make cards so he does not understand that on planet I PLAY WITH PAPER we inhabitants are not bound by the same time constraints as back on planet earth. It's neither winter nor summer, Christmas nor Easter. Whatever stamp set is calling your name is the one you play with. When I get into my happy little card place I could sit here for hours on end and n0t realize it. Earlier today Edan commented that I had a happy grin on my face, I had no idea, I was just plugging along constructing a card. Funny, no one ever popped into my office while I was deep into my work and remarked about the grin on my face, hmmm... I guess there are even limits to my being easily amused.

The OCC Challenge is to make a Christmas Card in August. So here on planet I PLAY WITH PAPER, I have no problem with that request. In fact, I am thrilled because Friday afternoon Pam, Edna and I stopped at one of my favorite scrapping stores (Scraptasia in New Providence, NJ) and I picked up these cute little owls, (I wonder if Frances, AKA Stamp Owl has this one?) with the idea of making some Christmas cards. I didn't think I'd do it this soon but what the heck, I've got nothing planned to do so I go with the challenges. This darling little stamp is called Owl Branch by Memory Box. It's stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa on white card stock. The edges of the card are inked with the rich cocoa and then I sponged it with Ranger Distress Ink in Tea Dye. The image is colored with copics. The card stock is Bazzil Basics Earthtone and the design paper is S.E.I. Alpine Frost. There are three red Taylor Tiny Twinkles in the corner. Too easy to be so cute.
