Howl in One

If it's Tuesday I must be howling. When I get wrapped up in my card making so that I don't care about the time, or anything else well that's howling for me. Tonight was a screaming good howler cause I got completely absorbed in this card and sponging the edges with a variety of colors. I could sit and do that kind of stuff for hours on end, remember, I'm easily amused.

Each week I eagerly await the Midnight Madness sketch challenge this week is MMSC15. If I get lucky I can usually combine it with another challenge. This week I got lucky, I found several challenges I could use for the card as I formed it in my mind. The Delicious Divas have Divalicous Color Challenge #1 this week. The colors they chose were Barely Banana, Cameo Coral, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie. So for my papers I picked the Stampin' Up DSP Haiku which has all of those colors, I went to town distressing them with Ranger inks so the colors are not as evident as they could be. The Createalicious Challenge #1 is to make something for Dad, include brown and some metal. For the metal, I jumped at the chance to use some of the bazillion eyelets Miss Eileen gave me last year. There just happened to be some martini eyelets in the bunch which I placed in the corners and threaded the ribbon through. I needed a card stock mat color and brown worked perfectly with these papers. Another Tuesday challenge I look forward to is the Pile It On challenge, which this week is to make something masculine and to combine it with at least one other challenge. So I think I got that covered. The stamp is from Impression Obsession and it's called "Fore Retirement" I colored it in with copics.. The tag is from a Stampin' Up Scrap kit called Just Delightful.
At the crop last weekend I made a set of four cards using this stamp and am just getting around to posting the picture. This set is for my sister-in-law Takako. She is from Japan and her culture has a great appreciation for paper crafts. Over the years she has gifted me with several gorgeous paper items which I love and hold onto. She is always surprised with what I come up with. The "t" is a rub on from EK Success Loopy Alphabet , another present from Eileen. I didn't bring any alphabet stamps with me to the crop so her present came to the rescue. The paper is Stampin' Up Muirfield. and the card stock is Best Occasion.
So there are two completely different looks you can make with one stamp.

  3. Love the golf martini's - they are so neat! I love the combination of colors and the sponging on the first card - really beautiful! Of course I love the martini brads - what a great idea to run the ribbon through them.

The argyle print paper is great on the 2nd card! I sometimes have trouble making masculine cards - but these 2 give me great ideas! Great job!
